Forlino

For a meal with a view in Singapore, you can’t get any better than the slick Forlino by Beppe De Vito.

Perched atop One Fullerton, Forlino boasts sweeping views of the Marina Bay waterfront, the Esplanade Drive (now part of the F1 circuit) and the Marina Bay Sands in the distant.

Complementing the transcendental view is an equally alluring dining space awash simply in a dark coat of brown and black.

Food wise, chef Giuliano Dacasto has crafted a menu of familiar Italian favourites with standouts such as the beef tenderloin carpaccio crowned with a riot of wild mushrooms mesclun and fork-tender braised wagyu beef cheek served in a cast iron pot with mashed potatoes and lashings of fried artichoke leaves.

But it’s the pasta lovers who will go wild with exuberance with Forlino’s extensive pasta menu. Choosing pasta favourites is impossible; but you will not want to miss the petite pillows of marshmallow-like potato gnocchi with wild chanterelle mushrooms and the al dente veal ossobuco ravioli served in a heady butter sauce crowned with sliced black truffles.
