Video: 1st Hong Kong Fingerboard Tricks Championships

Skateboarding with your fingers is a competitive extreme sport that's finally hit Hong Kong

Fingerboarding is simple: skating with your fingers using a miniature skateboard. As wacky as it sounds, it has potential to replace skateboarding in our not so skate-friendly city. By executing the same tricks as skateboarding with their fingers, kids and adults are taking to the psuedo-sport without the danger of breaking bones.

Paradise Mall in Heng Fa Chuen invited world fingerboarding champion Timo Kranz from Germany to adjudicate Hong Kong's very first fingerboard tricks competition on April 5, 2010. CNNGo was there to see some awesome dexterity at work and the crowning of Hong Kong's first ever fingerboard champ.

Where to buy fingerboards: Skate City, Shop 185-187, 166, 168, 1/F Metro Sham Shui, 226-242 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Sham Shui Po, Kowloon, tel +852 3485 0128 www.skatecityshop.com
