True Crime in Hong Kong brings 'Infernal Affairs' to gaming world

The popular game True Crime will launch its next edition with a storyline inspired by the Hong Kong gangster film

Wildly popular video game True Crime will be releasing its newest version based on the mean, neon-lit streets of Hong Kong ruled by tough guys. The trailer for the game above -- from Big Download -- shows the movie-like quality of the visuals and the character's dramatic soundbites.

According to The Independent, True Crime's first two versions were runaway successes. 'True Crime: Streets of L.A.' sold more than 300,000 units in its first two weeks of release in 2003 and went on to sell more than two million copies. The latest version, due for release in the fall of this year, is inspired by Hong Kong gangster movie "Infernal Affairs," which international audiences will know as the Hong Kong flick that inspired The Departed. The 70 million gamers in China will probably take to it quite well.
